MARGAO: Fatorda Veterans secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Joe Cookies Loutolim, advancing to the semifinals of the S. Mini Mart Seraulim Veterans Football Cup, organized by United Sports Club of Seraulim, and held at the church ground.
Francis Andrade was the standout player, scoring all four goals for Fatorda. The team came out aggressively from the start, with Andrade showcasing his skill and determination. While Joe Cookies Loutolim put up a valiant effort, particularly through Mark Revron, they struggled to support their star player and capitalize on scoring opportunities.
Fatorda opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Andrade darted between two Loutolim defenders to slot the ball home. Just two minutes later, he netted his second goal with a powerful shot after a solo run down the right flank. Fatorda went into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
In the second half, Loutolim improved their performance, with Revron creating several threats. However, Fatorda struck again, with Andrade adding two more goals to extend the lead to 4-0. Revron managed to find the back of the net for Loutolim with a penalty kick just minutes before the final whistle.
For his exceptional performance, Francis Andrade received the Man of the Match award from a dignitary in attendance.
