FC Goa parts way with its seven first team players

Panaji: FC Goa has officially confirmed the departure of several key players. The Gaurs are bidding farewell to Brandon Fernandes, Noah Sadaoui, Carlos Martinez, Victor Rodriguez, Dheeraj Singh, Sanson Pereira, and Saviour Gama. These players, who have been crucial to the team over the past few seasons, are moving on to continue their football careers elsewhere.

Brandon Fernandes joined FC Goa in 2017 through the Indian Super League (ISL) players’ draft. The Indian international made 130 appearances for the team, setting a club record with 31 assists and scoring 17 goals. His contributions include the winning goal in the 2018-19 Super Cup final, securing FC Goa's first major trophy. This past season, Fernandes captained the team to the Durand Cup semi-finals and helped them finish third in the ISL League with three goals and four assists.

Noah Sadaoui, who joined FC Goa in 2023, was a key part of the team’s attack over the past two seasons. The Moroccan international scored 29 goals and provided 16 assists in 54 matches, making him the second-best in goal contributions for the club.

Spanish striker Carlos Martinez played 32 matches last season, scoring 16 goals and making three assists. Victor Rodriguez, another important player last season, scored five goals and made three assists in 14 matches before an injury ended his season early.

Dheeraj Singh, Sanson Pereira, and Saviour Gama had been with FC Goa for several years. They were part of the first Indian club squad to play in the AFC Champions League (ACL) group stage in 2021. Dheeraj was named in the ACL Team of the Season, and Saviour Gama rose from the Club’s Development Team to the First Team, winning the Super Cup 2018-19, ISL 2019-20 League Shield, and the Durand Cup 2021.
