Panaji: In an effort to increase fan interest in football, Goa Football Association (GFA) and FC Goa have announced that ticket prices for all upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) matches in Goa will start at just ₹50. This decision was revealed by the GFA President during the recent GFDC Football Summit.
The decision follows two days of discussions at the football summit, which aimed to address the declining interest in football in Goa and invited stakeholders to share their thoughts and suggestions.
Key topics discussed included:
- High ticket prices
- The prevalence of free passes
- The need for greater fan loyalty and engagement
- Viewing football as a valuable product
Participants highlighted the importance of making football more accessible to fans. They made several recommendations to the government, including:
- Lowering the costs for clubs to use stadiums
- Ending the culture of free passes
- Recognizing FC Goa as a local club and treating it equally with other Goan teams
This decision was taken by the management of the Club (FCGoa) which was announced on Thursday.
The GFA expressed that if the government and other bodies help reduce operational costs, they can offer more affordable ticket prices.
