Nanda Lolayekar Trophy: Arlem CC crush Maruti CC to storm into semifinals

Shubham Gajinkar blasted a strokeful century as Arlem Cricket Club crushed Maruti Cricket Club by 165 runs and stormed into the semi-finals of Commonwealth Developers 43rd Nanda Lolayekar Trophy Cricket Tournament organised by Mashem Cricket Club at Nirakar Maidan, Mashem-Canacona.

Shubham Gajinkar, who scored 102 runs in 88 balls with 12 boundaries and 3 sixes, was named Man of the match. It was the opening partnership of 138 runs between Shubham and Anand Tendulkar (83 off 56 balls; 4x4, 6x6), that set the tone for the one-sided victory for Arlem CC, who posted a total of 299/5 in 35 overs after being put into bat.

Maruti CC bowlers were hammered in general, with the exception of Rudresh Sharma (7-0-27-3).

In reply, Maruti CC were dismissed for 134 in 27.1 overs. Sreedhar Barot (32), Om Fadte (31), Omkar Bhandari (21) failed to convert their starts into strong knocks.

Arlem bowlers shared the wickets with each one of them ticking the wickets column. Srinivas Fadte (3/28) finished at the top. Kaustub Pingulekar and Dhiraj Yadav took 2 wickets apiece; while Rajshekhar Harikant, Shubham Dessai and Prasad Patil picked up a wicket each.

Shubham Gajinkar received the Man of the Match award from Sachin Naik.
