Nuvem Veterans emerged victorious in the 10th Fatorda Veterans All Goa Football Tournament 2025, defeating Calangute Veterans 4-3 in a dramatic penalty shootout at Don Bosco Oratory ground on Saturday.
The final was a tightly contested affair. Wilson Fernandes opened the scoring for Nuvem Veterans, but Robert Fernandes quickly equalized for Calangute Veterans, forcing the match to a decisive penalty shootout. Nuvem Veterans held their nerve, converting their spot-kicks to clinch the championship.
Nuvem Veterans received a prize of Rs. 45,000 and the championship trophy, while Calangute Veterans took home Rs. 35,000 and the runners-up trophy.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Vijai Sardesai, MLA of Fatorda, and other distinguished guests including Rev. Fr. Ralin D'souza (Rector of Don Bosco Fatorda), Rev. Fr. Kinley Dcruz (Director of D.B.E.C.), Rev. Fr. Leo Pereira (Director of D.B.O. Fatorda), Carry Fernandes, Savio Madeira (Ex-International Football Player), Mark Revelon (Singer), Fr. Benson, and Fatorda Forward Councillors.
