Sesa Football Academy claimed the Batora United Women's Festival Cup with a narrow 1-0 win over Livval Sports Club Benaulim in the final at the Dysa Ground in Curtorim on Friday. The only goal of the match came in the first half, courtesy of Shusmita Jadhav.
In the second half, Livval Sports Club mounted a strong offensive, and their efforts earned them a penalty after one of their forwards was fouled in the box. However, Sesa FA's goalkeeper, Aashika Gadekar, made a crucial save by diving to her right, securing the victory for her team.
Michelle Rebello, ZP member of Curtorim Constituency, was the chief guest and presented the awards to the winners and runners-up. The ceremony was also attended by Maria Rebello, FIFA Referee Assessor; Gloria Demelo; James D'Costa, Dynamic Panchayat Member of VP Curtorim; Savio Fernandes, former Curtorim Gymkhana president; Anthony Fernandes and Francisco Nunes, Executive Members of GFA; Joaquim Fernandes; Franky Fernandes; Caetano Fernandes and Domnick.
