MARGAO: Sirvodem Sports Club delivered a masterclass performance, overwhelming Ambelim Sports Club with an impressive 8-0 victory in the Under-15 Khelo India Girls Football Tournament at Sinquetim Sports Complex, Navelim, on Friday.
The match showcased Sirvodem's attacking prowess, particularly through Shailaika Rodrigues, who scored an astounding seven goals. Sirvodem opened the scoring in the seventh minute when Rodrigues found the net for the first time. She quickly doubled the lead with another goal in the 22nd minute, completing her brace.
Rodrigues continued to dominate, netting her hat trick in the 34th minute and adding another goal just a minute later. Despite a regrouping effort from Ambelim Sports Club, their defense struggled to withstand the relentless pressure from Sirvodem's strikers.
Rodrigues added two more goals in the 52nd and 57th minutes, bringing her tally to five for the match. Leysha D'Costa capped off the victory by scoring the final goal in the 62nd minute, sealing an emphatic win for Sirvodem Sports Club.
