Don Bosco College, Panaji will play St Xavier’s College, Mapusa while Carmel College, Nuvem will take on Rosary College, Navelim in the semifinals of the Inter-Collegiate Football Women Championship organised by Goa University.
In the quarters played at Goa University ground, Carmel College, Nuvem defeated GEC Farmagudi 3-0. In the first half Carmel College scored twice through Rashal Pearl Vaz in the 6th minute and an own-goal by Alina N Aga in the 9th minute. Agnes Fernandes found the back of the net in the 37th minute of the second half to send Carmel's into the semis.
Meanwhile, Rosary College, Navelim hammered Vidya Prabodhini College, Porvorim 7-0. The defending champions showcased total domination scoring 2 goals in the first half which came from Flani Costa in the 5th minute and Rizella Almeida in the 14th. Rosary added 5 more goals after the break through Jyoti Fernandes, Jossel Mascarenhas, Myra Disilva, Aniela Barretto and Rhea Pires in the 38th, 41st, 43rd, 52nd & 58th minute respectively.
In the other quarterfinal matches played at Rosary Church ground Navelim, Don Bosco College, Panjim defeated Fr Agnel, Pillar 4-0. Alisia Fernandes scored Don Bosco's first goal from the spot in 6th minute while Karen Estrocio bagged a hattrick as Don Bosco marched into the semis.
Finally, St Xavier's College, Mapusa defeated MES College, Zuarinagar in a 7-goal drubbing. Star player Pushapa Parab scored a hattrick while Agnela Antao bagged a brace. Ishakka Mandrekar and Namita Govekar scored one each to add to Xavier's 7-0 victory.
