The Goa Badminton Association’s State Badminton Ranking Tournament for Seniors (Men and Women) commenced at the Multipurpose Stadium, Navelim, featuring the categories of Men and Women in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. The three day event, co hosted by Goa Sports Club and Chicalim Badminton Club, is one of the Selection tournaments for the West Zone and Nationals.
In the Men’s Singles category, Vivaan Kamat, Abhishek Swami, Yash Desai, and Advait Balakrishnan emerged victorious in their final round matches, securing their places in the Pre-Quarterfinals. Joining them in the Round of 16 are Sahil Sayed, Yousuf Shaikh, Floyd Araujo, and Soham Mandrekar, showcasing their skill and determination on the court.
The Men’s Doubles matches were equally thrilling, with pairs Ashmeet Parsekar/Parth Joshi, Abhishek Swami/Sadiq Attar, Ayush Kamal/Chirag Mahale, Karan Dhavaskar/Rahul Deswal, Anuj Vernekar/Mrunal Bhatkande, and Advait Balakrishnan/Parteek Mahajan sealing their berths in the Pre-Quarterfinals.
