Goa’s Aahil Sheikh has made an exceptional mark at the XXVI National Deaf Senior Swimming Championship, clinching five medals and setting a new National Meet Record (NMR) in the process.

The event, organised by the All India Sports Council of the Deaf, was hosted by the Kerala Sports Council of the Deaf and took place from March 26 to 29, at the Jimmy George Sports Hub Swimming Pool in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

Aahil’s performance at the competition was nothing short of spectacular, securing a total of five medals—four gold and one bronze. His gold medal victories came in the 1500m freestyle, 800m freestyle, 400m freestyle, and the 200m freestyle, where he set a new National Meet Record. He also earned a bronze in the 100m butterfly, rounding off an impressive medal haul.

The Goa Sports Council of the Deaf has extended its congratulations to Sheikh for his outstanding performance, which not only brings pride to Goa but also showcases the remarkable talent emerging from the deaf sports community.
