Francisco Andrade delivered a spectacular hat-trick, propelling Fatorda Veterans to a commanding 5-0 victory over Cunchelim Veterans in today's Panjim Veterans football tournament clash at the Taleigao ground.
Fatorda Veterans established an early lead, with Ricardo Carvalho finding the net in the first half. The second half, however, belonged entirely to Andrade. He completed his hat-trick in the 47th minute, capitalizing on a precise through-ball from John D'souza, leaving the Cunchelim defense reeling.
Cunchelim Veterans, despite the scoreline, showed flashes of brilliance. Ian D'souza came close to scoring, but the Fatorda defense, anchored by former Mahindra stalwart Anthony Pereira, stood firm, denying any breakthrough.
Despite the heavy defeat, Cunchelim Veterans' Cirilo D'souza was awarded the Man of the Match. Ajit Vegulekar, former Dempo player, presented the award, recognizing D'souza's efforts amidst the challenging circumstances.
