Benaulim B emerged victorious against Benaulim A in a dramatic penalty shootout at the 1st Benaulim Constituency Veterans Football Tournament, organized by Varca Veterans. The match, held at the Varca ground on Sunday, ended in a goalless draw after full time, leading to a tense tie-breaker.
In the decisive penalty shoot-out, Benaulim B secured a 5-4 win. Jose, Patrick, Caji, Zico, and Standly successfully converted their spot-kicks for Benaulim B, while Charles, Luis, Menino, and Danny scored for Benaulim A.
The final was graced by the presence of Benaulim Constituency MLA, Captain Venzy Viegas, who served as the chief guest and presented the prizes to the winners and runners-up. Local Varca Village Panchayat members, Carmona Panchayat members, and other delegates, along with the organisers were also present at the prize distribution ceremony.
