MARGAO: Canacona Sports and Cultural Club secured a place in the quarterfinals of the 45th St Joseph Festival Football Tournament, hosted by Dramapur SC, with a 2-1 victory over Sporting Club of Davorlim on Wednesday at the Dramapur ground.
Canacona took an early lead with a goal from Ronaldo Oliver in the 4th minute, assisted by Velroy Fernandes. They extended their advantage with a second goal by Terance Lobo in the 40th minute. Davorlim responded with a goal from Prince Figueiredo in the 46th minute but couldn't find the equalizer despite their efforts.
