Chetan Kavlekar to officiate in 38th National Games

Chetan Kavlekar, a Goa State awardee in Physical Education and Sports and a former state player in table tennis, basketball, and netball, has been selected as a National Technical Official in archery for the 38th National Games, which will be held in Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14.

This marks the fourth time Kavlekar will officiate at the National Games, having previously served in the events held in Assam, Kerala, Ranchi, and Gujarat. He also took on the role of Competition Manager for the National Games held in Goa in 2023.

Kavlekar, a Physical Education teacher at V. Dempo Higher Secondary School of Arts, Science, and Commerce in Cujira, holds several prominent positions. He is the President of the All Goa Council of Physical Education, the President of the HSS Physical Education Teachers Association, the Joint Secretary of the Goa Olympic Association, the Chairman of the Coaches Committee of the Archery Association of India, and the Vice President of the Archery Association of India.

In addition to his roles in education and administration, Kavlekar has represented India as the Manager of the Archery Team at the Asian Grand Prix Archery Championship in Bangkok, Thailand. He is also the Convenor of the Board of Studies and SCERT, where he played a key role in introducing the first Physical Education textbook for Std. IX.
