Churchill Brothers and Pax of Nagoa secure comfortable wins

Churchill Brothers and Pax of Nagoa claimed dominant wins in the Goa Professional League on Thursday.

At SAG Ground, Benaulim, Churchill Brothers bounced back from a recent loss to Goa Police with a 3-0 victory over Vasco SC. The match began brightly for Churchill, with Imarson scoring in the 10th minute from a quick throw-in.

In the 60th minute, a penalty awarded for a foul on Sarif Khan allowed Lesly Rebello to convert, making it 2-0.

Imarson added his second goal in the 75th minute, finishing off a low cross from Jobern Cardozo. Vasco’s late penalty attempt in stoppage time was saved by Churchill keeper Nitish Mehra, preserving the 3-0 scoreline.

Meanwhile, at Duler Stadium in Mapusa, Pax of Nagoa cruised past Guardian Angel SC 4-0.

Delton Colaco opened the scoring in the 19th minute, followed by Jesloy Moniz’s goal in the 34th minute, making it 2-0.

In stoppage time of the first half, Colaco netted again to complete his brace.

Nagoa added a fourth in the 73rd minute when Verloy Fernandes, introduced as a substitute, scored from distance to seal the 4-0 win.

Both teams dominated their respective matches, showcasing strong performances in the Goa Professional League.
