Two-time National champions Churchill Brothers FC will aim to continue their impressive form as they take on Namdhari FC at the Raia Sports Complex on Wednesday, at 3:30 PM.
Churchill Brothers have been in excellent form this season, securing four consecutive wins and sitting comfortably at the top of the table. A victory against Namdhari FC would extend their lead to five points, at least for 48 hours, as their closest rivals, Dempo and Inter Kashi, are set to face each other, meaning one of them will drop points.
However, Churchill Brothers are not underestimating Namdhari, a team that has bounced back from a brief slump and remains unbeaten in their last two games. Known for their physical style of play, especially away from home, Namdhari FC will pose a tough challenge for the leaders.
Currently leading the points table with 13 points from six games, Churchill Brothers will be eager to build on their lead. Namdhari, who have 8 points from as many games, are aiming to close the gap.
Churchill’s coach, Dimitris Dimitriou, expressed confidence in his team’s preparations. “We are in a great technical and physical state, and I expect us to be at our best against Namdhari to secure the three points,” he said.
On the other hand, Namdhari head coach Harpreet Singh emphasized the importance of the match. "We are fully focused on achieving victory and have been working tirelessly to ensure our team is in peak physical, technical, and psychological condition for this crucial game," Singh said.
