Goa girls secure joint third place with Rajasthan

Pratiksha Kerkar's consistent brilliance throughout the tournament was recognised as she was deservedly awarded the Best Player of the Championship prize.

The Goa girls' team displayed exceptional talent at the 29th Sub Junior National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship held in Kalol, Gujarat, clinching a commendable joint third-place finish.

Despite falling short of the finals after a close encounter with Uttar Pradesh (UP) in the semi-finals, the Goa team showcased their cricketing prowess. Batting first, Goa set a target of 41 runs in their allotted six overs. Pratiksha Kerkar (17 runs) and Sanvi Pagi (12 runs) were the key contributors with the bat. In reply, UP chased down the target with 42 runs in just 5.3 overs. However, Goa's bowling attack put up a valiant fight. Pratiksha Kerkar continued to shine, picking 2 wickets for 17 runs. Purva Gaude also chipped in with a crucial 2 wickets for 13 runs.

While UP emerged victorious in the girls' category, Goa shared the joint third-place position with Rajasthan. The boys' category saw UP claim the winner's title, with Odisha and Rajasthan finishing as runners-up and third place respectively, with Purvanchal securing the joint third-place position alongside Rajasthan.
