PANAJI: Goa Police Veterans secured a 2-0 victory against Arsenal Veterans in a hard-fought match at the Taleigao ground, as part of the Panjim Veterans football tournament.
The first half saw a balanced contest, with Rohidas Mhaloji putting Goa Police Veterans ahead in the 20th minute with a well-placed shot. The lead remained 1-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Mohan Parab's precise cross from the right wing found Ravi Govekar, who doubled Goa Police Veterans' advantage in the 40th minute. Arsenal Veterans' Claudo Fernandes missed a crucial opportunity to score.
Despite the loss, Arsenal Veterans' Christ Fernandes was awarded Man of the Match, presented by Kapil Natekar, Assistant Engineer from the Electricity Department, Kadamba Plateau.
