Goans Hockey lost 4-0 to Hockey Chandigarh to suffer their first defeat in the 15th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2025 at the Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh on Monday.
In Division B match, Hockey Chandigarh scored through Amandeep (19’), Mohit (48’), Manjinder Singh (54’) and Gurmukh Singh (56’) to register a win.
Chandigarh now lead the points table with an all-win record and have nine points followed by Goans Hockey who have won two and lost one and have six points.
Goans Hockey next play vs Telangana Hockey today in their final league engagement of the group.
Telangana Hockey have played two matches and have lost one and won one to tally three points. Besides Goans Hockey, Telangana Hockey concluding match is against Hockey Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.
In the other match of the same Group A yesterday, Group Hockey Uttarakhand defeated Hockey Andhra Pradesh with a thrilling scoreline of 5-3 in Pool A of Division B.
Vishal Kumar (10’, 32’), Captain Deepak Singh Fartyal (12’, 50’) and Deepanshu Aswal (20’) scored for Hockey Uttarakhand while Ramana Balla Venkat (34’), Siva Boya (37’) and Kumar Ragipati Sandeep (49’) scored the three goals for Hockey Andhra Pradesh.
