Goa’s Joshuah Stan Vaz is the lone instructor conducting the AFC Futsal Coaching Certificate Course Level 1 which kicked off on Monday at Dili, Timor-Leste.
This is Joshuah's first course outside India as an AFC Futsal International Instructor.
Altogether 17 participants including one female are attending the five-day course which concludes on March 8.
Over the next 6 days, coaches will have the opportunity to learn from each other, refine their skills, and connect with fellow futsal enthusiasts.
At the opening ceremony participants and dignitaries, Henrique Da Costa (President of Futsal Association TL), Jose Adilson Ribeiro (General Secretary FFTL), attended along with Joshuah Stan Vaz (AFC Instructor), Gaspar Quintão Da Silva (Acting Technical Director FFTL) and Lourenço Baptista Guterres (Futsal officer/Course Coordinator).
"It is a proud moment for me and my family who have worked so hard to develop the game of Futsal in India and their support and sacrifice has been instrumental in my growth. I would like to thank my mentors Coach Shahab Sofalmanesh (Iran), Coach Chiew Chun Yong (Malaysia) and Sir Savio Madeira for always guiding me in this journey,” Joshuah said.
“Futsal is more than just a sport—it’s a dynamic, fast-paced game that builds technical skills, teamwork, and strategic thinking. It’s a sport that challenges both the body and the mind, and I have no doubt that this course will help the coaches grow, not only as a player or coach but also as an individual,” he added.
