PANAJI: Ilhas Veterans had little or no problem putting it across Ashvem Veterans 3-0 to storm into the semiifnals of the Santa Cruz Village Panchayat Veterans Cup football tournament at Santa Cruz ground on Wednesday.
What was expected to be a closely fought encounter turned one sided after Nevil Araujo gave Ilhas and early lead and Govind doubled the score inside the first 20 minutes.
In the second half, Pratap killed the match as a contest with the third goal as Ashvem found themselves overpowered from all sides. The losing side had a few half-chances but nothing that made Ilhas sweat till the final whistle.
In the semifinals, Ilhas await the winners of the clash between Bardez Veterans and Calangute Veterans.
