IWL 2: FC Tuem go down to Suruchi Sangha

Suruchi Sangha continued their perfect start in the Indian Women's League 2 with a convincing 2-0 victory over Football Club Tuem.

The match, held at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, saw the visitors from Kolkata maintain their dominance in the league, winning both of their opening games.

L B Chanu opened the account for Suruchi Sangha in the 26th minute, giving her team a crucial lead. As the match seemed to be heading towards a 1-0 result, P M Devi sealed the win in dramatic fashion, finding the back of the net in the 90+4 minute, ensuring the team’s second consecutive win.

In another match, SAG Football Academy suffered a 2-0 defeat to Pune Krida Prabhodhini Academy. The match saw Krida Prabhodhini take control, with S Shaikh scoring in the 56th minute and S Hiwale adding a second goal in the 86th minute to secure the win. The result leaves SAG FA at the bottom of the table with no points after two matches.

With their win, Suruchi Sangha remains at the top of the points table with 6 points from 2 matches, having scored 5 goals and conceded none.

In Group C action at Sesa Academy Ground in Sirsaim, Tungabhadra FC played out a thrilling 2-2 draw against Mumbai Knights FC. Both teams fought hard, but neither could secure a victory, leaving them with a single point each after their opening match.

Meanwhile, Liberty Ladies FC delivered an emphatic performance, crushing Northeast United FC 12-0 in their opening match. The dominating win put Liberty Ladies at the top of Group C with 3 points, a perfect start to their campaign.
