Mangirish Veterans and Dessert n More Avengers registered wins in the Goa Veterans Cricket League 2, organised by the Goa Veterans Cricket Association
In the first match of the day, Vasco Mariners, after winning the toss, elected to bat and posted a competitive total of 154/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Raghuvir Lotlikar (65 off 48) and Chandrakant Ghadi (50) were the standout performers with the bat. Balkrishna Hodarkar (2/35), Navanath Kamat (1/31), Naresh Assoldekar (1/25), Shailesh Naik (1/7), and Mahesh Raikar (1/30) contributed with the ball for Mangirish Veterans.
Chasing 155 for victory, Mangirish Veterans held their nerve to reach 158/8 in 19.5 overs, securing a thrilling 2-wicket win. Damodar Redkar (53) and Razashad Shaikh (45) played crucial innings for Mangirish. Edison Gonsalves (2/31), Sandeep Dabolkar (1/13), Ravindra Barve (1/19), and Dheeraj Narvekar (1/18) were the wicket-takers for Vasco Mariners. Razashad Shaikh was awarded the Man of the Match, receiving his prize from Rizwan Khan.
The second match saw Royal Ruby win the toss and elect to bat, managing to score 127/9 in their 20 overs. Sanjay Dabolkar (33), Sherbahadur Yadav (29), and Shitesh Sawal (27) were the main contributors. Sagar Gosavi (4/18), Vinod Wilson (2/26), Tushar Sawant (2/27), and Ayub Khan (1/17) bowled effectively for Dessert n More Avengers.
In response, Dessert n More Avengers chased down the target with ease, reaching 129/5 in 18.4 overs. Micky Colaco (37), Vikas Desai (18), and Naresh Parsekar (20) guided their team to victory. Shailesh Misquin (2/21) and Sherbahadur Yadav (1/18) picked up wickets for Royal Ruby. Sagar Gosavi was named Man of the Match for his impressive bowling performance, receiving his award from Govind Gaokar.
