MCC Legends clinch thrilling one-run win

The tenth season of the Members Cricket League T-20, organized by the Margao Cricket Club, witnessed exciting matches on Saturday as MCC Dragons and MCC Legends emerged victorious. MCC Dragons defeated MCC Masters by 4 wickets, while MCC Legends secured a nail-biting one-run win over MCC Warriors. Both matches were held at the MCC ground in Margao.
In the first match, MCC Dragons won the toss and elected to bowl. MCC Masters were bowled out for 126 runs in 17.4 overs. Anup Kudchadkar (35 runs off 20 balls, including 6 fours and 1 six) led the scoring, with valuable contributions from Siddhesh Prabhu Alvencar (29), Vikrant Prabhu (21), and Angad Painginkar (19). For the Dragons, Vaibhav Naik delivered an exceptional performance, taking 4 wickets for 19 runs. Sunil Shet and Kaushik Pai Fondekar chipped in with 2 wickets each, while Kapil Angle picked up 1.
Chasing 127, the Dragons were in trouble at 10/2 but recovered through a 61-run partnership between Kapil Angle (25) and Aditya Prabhugaonkar (30). Captain and wicketkeeper Vaibhav Naik’s quick-fire 27 off 21 balls and Ankush Patil’s unbeaten 19 off 12 balls sealed the victory. Vaibhav Naik was adjudged Player of the Match. For MCC Masters, Vikrant Prabhu took 2 wickets for 23 runs, while Amlon D’Souza, Balkrishna Hodarkar, and Prasad Ghode picked up 1 wicket each.
The second match of the day was a thriller. Batting first, MCC Legends posted 148/5 in 20 overs. Captain Amod Borkar (36 off 34 balls), Swapnil Nachinolkar (35 off 36 balls), Sandeep Dalal (29 off 23 balls), and Vasudev Kundaiker (18 off 13 balls) were the top contributors. For MCC Warriors, Ketan Kunde and Raghuvir Kuncolienkar picked up a wicket each.
In reply, Warriors were reeling at 38/6 in the 6th over. A late fightback by Sudip Faldesai (37 off 19 balls, including 4 fours and 1 six), Ketan Kunde (23 off 24 balls), and Rohan Badve (19) brought them close, but they fell just one run short. Vasudev Kundaiker, with figures of 2/14, was named Player of the Match. Akhil Nadkarni (2/19), Siddharth Desai (2/28), Sandip Dalal, and Brijesh Prabhu also contributed with key wickets.
