Navelim Villagers Union secured a convincing 2-0 victory over SCC Loutolim to advance to the quarterfinals of the Fr. Agnelo Youth Soccer Tournament, organized by the Fr. Agnelo Youth Sports Club, Paroda, and held at the Panchayat Grounds, Avedem.
The match kicked off with high energy, and Navelim made an early breakthrough in the 10th minute. Meliston Dias unleashed a powerful strike from the edge of the box, sending the ball into the top corner to give Navelim the lead. They doubled their advantage later in the first half when Noah Luis displayed impressive dribbling skills, weaving past several defenders before calmly slotting the ball into the net.
SCC Loutolim came out stronger in the second half, led by Aniston D’Silva, but struggled to break through Navelim’s well-organized defense. Despite some promising attacking play, Loutolim couldn't find a way to score. The match took a turn when Figo Gomes of Navelim was sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct, but Loutolim was unable to capitalize on the numerical advantage.
In the end, Navelim held firm and secured a 2-0 win, earning their spot in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
