P.G. Goa University, Taleigao and Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim registered convincing wins on Day nine of the Goa University Inter Collegiate Cricket Men Championship 2024-25.
In the first match, P.G. Goa University, Taleigao cruised to an 8-wicket victory over Goa College of Pharmacy. Winning the toss and opting to bowl, P.G. Taleigao’s decision proved fruitful as they restricted Goa College of Pharmacy to 103/7 in their 18 overs. Devesh Kudalkar (26 off 27) and Sahil Gaonkar (18 off 19) were the main contributors for Goa College of Pharmacy, while Smith Vengurlekar claimed 2/20 for P.G. Taleigao.
Chasing a modest target, P.G. Taleigao’s batsmen made short work of the run chase, reaching 105/2 in just 10.1 overs. Poornay Sudhir played a blistering innings of 34 off just 11 balls, supported by Sunil Naik’s 33 off 30. Vrushab Naik managed to pick up 2/33 for Goa College of Pharmacy, but it was not enough to prevent the comfortable victory. Poornay Sudhir was awarded the best performance for his rapid 34.
The second match saw Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim defeat Goa Dental College, Bambolim by 6 wickets. Rosary College won the toss and elected to field, a decision that paid off as they restricted Goa Dental College to 87/8 in their 20 overs. Kartik Chari top-scored with 45 off 43 balls for Goa Dental College, while Aaryan Kumar (2/10) and Yash Jogale (2/22) were the pick of the bowlers for Rosary College.
In response, Rosary College reached the target of 88/4 in 13.5 overs. Yash Jogale anchored the chase with a composed 35 off 43 balls. Utkarsh Natekar took 3/27 for Goa Dental College, but Rosary College secured a comfortable victory. Yash Jogale's all-round performance, with 35 runs and 2 wickets, earned him the best performance award.
