Sporting Club of Davorlim moved into the quarter finals after defeating Sinquerim Sports Club 3-1 in the 25th All Goa Our Lady of Merces 8-a-side inter village football tournament, organised by Sirlim Sports Club, at Chinchinim church ground.
Davorlim took the lead as early as the third minute through Sahil Inamdar with a powerful 18-yard right foot shot which gave no chance to Sinquerim Keeper Avin. Down by a goal, Sinquerim started to control the game but the Davorlim defence was well organised and didn't allow the Sinquerim striker to score.
Sahil Pawar of Sinquerim was shown yellow card for dangerous play. Ajay of Davorlim missed an open sitter in the 20th minute with just the Sinquerim keeper to beat.
Post-resumption, Sporting Club Davorlim made it 2-0 in the 37th minute through Delton Colaco who scored off a simple tap in from beautiful cross from Ajay.
William Niasso scored the third goal for Sporting Club Davorlim. In the last minute, Sahil Pawar scored a consolation goal for Sinquerim.
