Sporting Clube down Pax of Nagoa

Sporting Clube eased past Pax of Nagoa SC 3-1 in the Goa Professional League at Nagoa panchayat ground on Tuesday.

Nagoa’s Beneston Barretto capitalized on a defensive blunder by SC Goa’s goalkeeper Siddharth Rana to hand Nagoa the lead in the 25th minute. Sporting Clube equalized on the stroke of halftime through Francisco Fernandes, who headed home after a well-executed corner routine involving Ivon Costa and Sushil.

In the second half, Sporting Clube took control. Selwyn Miranda’s pinpoint low cross found Sushil at the far post for a simple tap-in to make it 2-1. Vikram Venktachalam sealed the victory in style, dribbling past defenders and unleashing a sensational strike into the top corner.

At Duler Stadium, CD Salgaocar delivered a commanding performance to thrash Panjim Footballers 4-0. Isac Zomuanpuia led the charge with a brace, while Suraj and Pratesh Shirodkar added a goal apiece to secure an emphatic victory.

Sesa FA secured a narrow 2-1 win over Vasco SC at Tilak Maidan. Shridharnath Gawas gave Sesa the lead, while an own goal by Vasco’s Ngamminlun Khongsai extended their advantage. Vasco’s Reuben Letkhotinchon pulled one back late, but it wasn’t enough to salvage a point.
