Sporting Clube de Goa’s I-League 2 season took a turn with a closely contested 1-0 defeat to United Sports Club (United SC) in their fourth match at the Kalyani Stadium on Saturday.
The game saw a turning point in the 10th minute when United SC’s Tarak Hebram converted a penalty, awarded following a handball incident inside the box. Despite this early setback, Sporting Clube de Goa showed resilience and continued to press forward.
In the second half, Sporting Clube de Goa took control of possession, maintaining a strong attacking presence looking to equalize. Despite a number of promising chances, the team was unable to find the back of the net, with both teams battling hard but unable to convert their opportunities.The match concluded with a 1-0 victory in favor of United Sports Club.
United SC move up to 7 points while Sporting Clube de Goa remain on 4 points.
Looking ahead, Sporting Clube de Goa will be eager to bounce back when they face TRAU in an I-League 2 home match on February 20, 2025. The match will take place at the Ella Academy Ground in Old Goa, at 4:00 PM with Sporting determined to regain momentum and put in a strong performance on home soil.
