St Anthony SC Assolda booked their spot in the semifinals of the 33rd Arlem Rolling Trophy Inter-Village Football Tournament with a commanding 3-1 victory over Carmona SC at the Raia Panchayat Ground on Thursday.
The Assolda side got off to a flying start as Sunny Fernandes opened the scoring in just the 6th minute, putting early pressure on their opponents. Carmona nearly responded in the 10th minute, but Yuri's attempt went narrowly wide.
In the second half, Sunny Fernandes doubled the lead in the 47th minute, continuing his dominant form. Just three minutes later, Alreach Piexito added a third for Assolda with a well-taken strike in the 50th minute, giving them a commanding 3-0 lead.
Edwin Afonso pulled one back for Carmona SC in the 56th minute, but it proved to be only a consolation as Assolda comfortably saw out the game.
For his crucial goal and overall performance, Alreach Piexito was named Man of the Match, receiving the award from Jerome Colaco.
