St Savio SC and Club Sao Miguel de Taleigao battled to an entertaining 2-2 draw in their GFA First Division League clash at the Poriat ground on Wednesday.
St Savio’s Cyprian Rodrigues was the standout performer, scoring a first-half brace with goals in the 23rd and stoppage time (45+2’) to give his side the edge. But CSM Taleigao hit back through Shekhar Sautodkar, who restored parity in the 31st minute, and Shidhart Naik, who put them ahead shortly after the break in the 51st.
Rodrigues’ second goal came just moments before the interval, punishing Taleigao after they were reduced to ten men for a brief period with Shekhar picking up a yellow card in first-half stoppage time. St Savio’s Godwin Da’ Costa was also booked late in the second half.
Despite late pressure from both sides, neither could find the winner, as they were forced to settle for a point apiece.
