In an emphatic display, Goa’s badminton sensation Tanisha Crasto, paired with the talented Dhruv Kapila, to clinch the gold in the mixed doubles event at the 85th Senior National Badminton Championships 2023 in Guwahati.
The dynamic duo who had emerged victorious at the Odisha Masters Super 100 International badminton tournament earlier this month secured their title with a commanding performance, triumphing over Nitin Kumar and Navdha Manglam with a scoreline of 21-13, 21-8.
Goa Badminton Association secretary Sandeep Heble hailed Tanisha’s “historic” performance. “This is a historic first gold medal for Goa at the Senior Badminton Nationals. Who else, but it had to be Tanisha who has done Goa and India proud on numerous occasions previously,” Heble said.
