MARGAO: Goa’s tennis enthusiasts are in for a rare treat with Indian tennis icon Leander Paes scheduled to make a special on-court appearance at the B.P.S Hall in Margao on 21 Feb at 12 noon alongside the Baale BPS Open 2025 tennis tournament, which is underway.
Paes, a multiple Grand Slam champion, Olympic medal winner and one of India's most celebrated sports personalities who literally electrified tennis courts with his energy and fist-pumping and chest-bumping style of play, will engage with participants, inspire young players and share playing tips and racquet skills with Goa’s young tennis talent.
Paes shares a Goan lineage thanks to his father Vece, a well-known international hockey legend, who represented India in the 1972 Munich Olympics.
