United Club of Verna booked their spot in the semifinals of the 33rd Arlem Rolling Trophy Inter-Village Football Tournament with a nail-biting 8-7 win over Nuvem SC via the tiebreaker, in a match played at the Raia Panchayat Ground.
Nuvem SC took an early lead, with Shenoy Colaco and Inacio Colaco finding the net in the 8th and 14th minutes, respectively. However, United Club of Verna staged a strong comeback in the second half, equalizing through Stephen Satarkar in the 29th minute and Clifton Rebello in the 36th minute, pushing the match into penalties after a 2-2 stalemate in regulation time.
In the shootout, United Club of Verna held their nerve, converting their chances to clinch the win.
Stephen Satarkar was named Man of the Match for his standout performance and received the award at the hands of Francisco Pango.
