United Club Verna secured a 5-3 victory over Varca Sports Club to advance to the quarterfinals of the United Club Telaulim Football Tournament at Rosary Church Ground, on Monday.
Desmond Pereira and Roydon Rego both scored twice for United Club Verna, while Elrich Fernandes added another goal to complete their tally. For Varca, Allan Fernandes netted a brace, and Jobern Cardozo also found the back of the net, but it wasn't enough to overcome Verna's strong performance.
Roydon Rego of United Club Verna was named 'Man of the Match,' with the award presented by former footballer Damaciano.
