Cricket enthusiasts in Mormugao will receive a major boost as work on a new cricket pitch with practice nets was launched at Rose Circle Ground, Sada, on Tuesday.
Among those present at the launch ceremony included Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar, Goa Cricket Association (GCA) Secretary Rupesh Naik, and Club President Yatin Kamurlikar.
The new facility aims to provide enhanced training opportunities for budding cricketers.
"There was a delay in this project as the ground was under the Sports Authority of Goa and the lack of a No Objection Certificate (NOC). However, the GCA has now revived the NOC, and work has commenced. The pitch and other facilities will be ready in the next 15 days, benefiting our youth," said Amonkar.
He further assured that additional infrastructure developments would begin within the next 15 days. Plans include professional coaching facilities and better training resources to nurture future cricket stars from the region.
