The auspicious direction to place a mirror is North, North-East and East. This will create a conducive environment of positive vibes leading to peace and harmony in the house
A mirror is an integral part of every household. No house is complete without a mirror. It completes the circle of perfection of beauty.
The vital role that a mirror plays is that of a reflection. Hence the saying, “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest among all”.
When light falls on the mirror, it reflects the same. So also, the energies entering the house. Mirrors need to be placed in the right direction so that the negative energies are reflected out of the house.
There are three auspicious directions namely, North, North-East and East from where all the positive energies enter the house. The negative energies always enter from South, South-West and West.
The auspicious direction to place the mirror is North, North-East and East. This will create a conducive environment of positive vibes leading to peace and harmony in the house.
Certain things need to be noted while placing the mirrors in the house. Never place a mirror exactly in front of the entrance or the main door so that the positive energies entering the house from the main door are not reflected. The mirror should be rectangle or square or oval and should be placed about 2 feet above the floor level. A small mirror can be placed 4 to 5 feet above the floor level. Avoid placing two mirrors opposite each other. Children should not sit in front of the mirror while studying. A mirror on the ceiling above the bed and the headboard of the bed must be avoided at any cost.
If there is a mirror in the bedroom, then care must be taken to avoid the reflection of the body in the mirror while sleeping. If this is not done then there will be health issues to the person whose body is so reflected in the mirror. This can be avoided by covering the mirror while sleeping. A paper or curtain can be used to do so. If the mirror is old and not clear or if one’s face cannot be seen in the mirror then it should be immediately replaced by a new one. No broken mirrors should be kept in the house. It is also advisable to avoid odd or even shaped mirrors.
Mirrors must always be clean and clear. Though mirrors are also used as Vastu remedies it is pertinent to note here that only a Vastu expert must be consulted to correct the defects with mirrors.
