Art as a bridge between generations: Celebrating diversity and resilience

For many attendees, the exhibit offers more than just visual art; it serves as a shared cultural memory that keeps Goa’s heritage alive. Curator, Fr. Délio Mendonça noted that the collaborative effort behind Footprints of Hope has been monumental. "This exhibition could inspire viewers to fortify respect for the religious and cultural diversity that marks Indian civilization," he stated. By showcasing Goa’s diverse artistic talent, the exhibit echoes the values championed by Saint Francis Xavier — compassion, unity, and service. For Goans, Xavier’s legacy is intertwined with the region’s history, and this exhibit serves as both a testament to and a preservation of that legacy.

In an age of global challenges, Footprints of Hope resonates deeply. As Goa continues to welcome visitors from around the world, the exhibition will highlight a legacy that remains relevant today - one that calls for mutual respect, environmental care, and a collective effort to uplift one another. The exhibition will run parallel to the Exposition and stand as a reminder of St. Francis Xavier’s legacy in promoting human dignity and peace.
