We both began together,
The first step that we took wastogether,
The dream was to be together, forever,
But the penultimate signs were a revealer.
Life had two dimensions,
The physical presence and the mentaltogetherness,
But the mental togetherness wasovershadowed,
By the glamour of a career,
And the fire of passion.
There were fits and misfits.
There was the physical self,
There was the wandering mind,
Though our physical selves … had remainedtogether,
The wandering minds had crossed theborder.
And it seemed,
It all happened in a blink,
When my partner’s mind,
Left me behind in a fix.
But I was no different,
My passions too had blinded me,
And had taken my mind away,
And had left my partner in dismay.
What was visible to each other was,
The silhouette of each other,
What wasn’t apparent was the gripof the career,
We both thought we have movedahead,
But in reality we both were leftbehind.
Surely an X-factor was required,
To snuggle new vibes,
For starting a new innings,
Before it was late,
But we somehow made it
By God’s grace.
